ConnectNet: Search for Digital Opportunities Near You!

Sunday, April 1st, 2001

At the end of March, my latest project went online: ConnectNet, a national database of local digital divide initiatives. The database, which was developed in conjunction with a new TV public service announcement campaign, allows you to input a local zipcode and generate a map of area libraries, community tech centers and other organizations offering free Internet access and IT training. For folks who would like to search the database but don’t have Internet access, we’ve even set up a toll-free number that you can call in order to speak with an operator who will conduct the search for you. To test out the database, go to connectnet.org and input a zipcode in the space on the right side where it says “Get Connected!”
