On April 5, I had the honor of meeting President Clinton at the White House. That day in the East Room, the president hosted an event kicking off his April Digital Divide tour. After the event was over, President Clinton spent some time talking with attendees, and I briefly got to speak with him about the Digital Divide Network and the importance of addressing the digital divide comprehensively, especially in regard to literacy and education issues. On the whole it was pretty exciting. I’d always heard people say that when you meet Clinton in person, he makes you feel like you’re the only person in the world he’d want to talk to. It really is true – he won’t stop shaking your hand until your done talking, he stares deep in to your eyes and listens intently. Like him or not, there’s no doubt the guy’s got charisma. Next time I’ll have to invite him out for happy hour or something….
